Washington DC: Day Four
On our last day in D.C, we took the train back to NYC, but this time we had company. Asher and Henry and their parents took the train back with us.
We spilled water in the gym… so we cleaned it up with towels.

Washington DC: Day Three
Today we went back to the National Mall and walked through the Botanical Gardens. There was a Thomas the Train exhibit which we loved. We met up with Asher and Henry, and our friend Mona, from Brooklyn, who was also visiting D.C. The weather was so beautiful that we ordered Pizza to be delivered outside and ate near the Capital Reflecting Pool.
That night we went to Cousin Andy’s house and had dinner.

Washington DC: Day Two
On our second day, we had a yummy breakfast and then worked out in the gym. Later we walked around the National Mall with Cousin Andy and Jimmy. We went to the Lincoln Memorial and saw what is on a penny and a five dollar bill. In the evening we had dinner with our friends Asher and Henry who were visiting from Miami.
Washington DC: Day One
We left on Christmas and took Amtrak to DC. We were excited to take a real ‘choo train. When we got to the hotel, we found out the lobby was round… so we got to run around it. Alot.

Family Traditions
This morning was Sophie’s turn to share her family traditions. Mommy and Daddy came into school this morning and spoke about Chanukah. Mommy talked about light and miracles. We showed the class three different menorahs… one that Sophie made in Pre-K. Daddy read a Chanukah book, and at the end of the school day Sophie will hand out goodie bags she made for the class that contains: Gelt, a Dreidel and snowflake stickers.
Ben: Week 13 at school. Noah’s Ark
This week in the Dazzling Daisies classroom we’ve moved right along onto our next topic: Noah’s Ark. The theme comes from the weekly Biblical portion called Noah. Morah started the circle time by telling the story of Noah. A long time ago, the people were not being so nice or kind and sharing, so Hashem (G-D) told Noah to build a big Tevah (Ark) for him and his family. It took Noah a very long time to build the ark because it was so big. It had three floors. The first floor was for Noah and his family. The second, was for the animals, and the third was for the garbage. Finally, when Noah finished building the ark, Hashem told him to collect animals in pairs. Once all the animals were on the boat, Noah shut the door with a big BANG. Immediately, it started to rain. The rain lasted for forty days and forty nights. Noah and his family fed and took special care of all the animals. It rained so much that the whole world became one big giant ocean. After a long time Noah sent a dove/bird out and when he came back he was holding an olive branch that meant it was time to come off the boat. The Daisies started discussing the different animals that went on the boat. Some live on a farm, some in the zoo and some in the sea. We each got to glue on different animal pictures on our graph and place them in the correct living area. Some Daisies told Morah that they have animals at home. Some of the pets mentioned were, dogs, cats and even a parakeet.. We enjoyed looking at some pictures of the Daisies with pets or animals..
