Radio City Christmas Spectacular
On Saturday Nov 8 went to Radio City and brought our friend Orly. We loved the Rockettes and bought a twirly light toy.

Queens County Farm
Sunday we went to the Queens County Farm with our friend Talia. We rode a pony, picked Pumpkins and went to the petting zoo.

Sophie violin demonstration
Sophie is in the Green room, but did a demo for the Blue room.
From Sophie’s school:
Sophie was a visiting musician in the blue room today! The blue room has been curious about instruments and Hara asked Sophie to come in to demonstrate. She talked about the strings and shape of the violin then played a little to show how each string sounds. The blue roomers were impressed!
Green Room or Hamantaschen Factory?

With Purim right around the corner, the Green Roomers this week have been busy mixing, rolling, patting, and pinching up a storm. Hamantaschen are triangular shaped cookies with filling – traditionally fruit preserves, but could be filled with anything from chocolate to cheese! The children love that these holiday treats reference the villain in of the story of Purim. (As the story goes, Haman, the “bad guy”, wore a three cornered hat.) See our little bakers making some very delicious hamantaschen and then enjoying the fruits of their labor…
Creating a whole world out of recycled materials – Dollhouse
From Sophie’s school:
On the first day back from our school break, one of the Green Roomers remarked during meeting, “We could make a dollhouse!” and the response from everyone was so enthusiastic that we began working to make one the very next day. The children were able to come up with quite an extensive list of things that they wished to make for the house including a swimming pool, staircases and musical instruments. Everyone who wanted to create something for the house made a plan and we helped them figure out what materials they would need to make their ideas a reality. In keeping with our “green” goals in the Green Room, we are using recycled and reused materials – cardboard boxes from our snack, cardboard tubes, bottle caps from our lunches, samples of tiles, fabric scraps and wood pieces. The house is really coming to life.
